Physical Education

Physical Education at Apollo Parkways Primary School enables students to develop skills, knowledge, understanding, and a willingness to positively influence their own health and wellbeing. This includes learning in a range of contexts, including community, aquatic and outdoor environments. Students in grades 3-6 complete an athletics program, improving their techniques in the areas of running, hurdling, long, triple and high jump, shot put, discus and circular relays. These skills are in preparation for the school Athletics carnival each year.

Apollo Parkways Primary School has a long tradition of sporting success. Our students are provided with opportunities to develop individual skills in a range of activities. All year levels are involved in weekly physical education lessons. Our facilities include a full-size stadium, a large synthetic turf oval, cricket nets and numerous courts. All year levels also participate in a swimming program. Students from grades 3 to 6 are provided opportunities to compete at higher levels throughout the year in sports such as swimming, athletics and cross country.

Our physical education team ensures our students have opportunities to be a part of the wider sporting community with access to inter-school sports on a weekly basis in grades 5 and 6. Ultimately the aim is for our students to experience a range of sports, enjoy being active and being a part of a team.
